Capitula Premium
What is free and what needs Premium?
The first chapter of every book, and the short introductions to each part, play for everyone without an account. Every other chapter needs Capitula Premium: $49.99 a year or $7.99 a month, with a 7-day free trial. See Pricing.
I subscribed in the app. Does it work on the web?
Yes. It is one membership. Sign in on capitula.io with the same account you use in the app — the same email, or the same Apple / Google sign-in — and every chapter opens. The same is true the other way round.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Bought on the web: open You → Manage subscription on capitula.io, or the link in Paddle's receipt email. It opens Paddle's customer portal. iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting your Capitula account or the app does not cancel a subscription. If you reinstall the app, use Restore purchases on the subscription screen.
How do I get a refund?
Web purchases: email us within 14 days of the charge — see the Refund Policy. App purchases are refunded by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play.
I paid but a chapter is still locked.
Web purchases usually switch on within a few seconds; reload the page. Check that you are signed in with the account you paid with (shown under You). If it is still locked after a few minutes, email us with the receipt.

Account and sign-in
Can I use Capitula without an account?
Yes. The library and the free chapters work without signing in. An account keeps your progress and notes across devices and carries your subscription.
How do I create an account?
On the web, choose Sign in → Create an account and use an email and password, or continue with Apple or Google. In the iOS app, use Sign in with Apple.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Me → Account → Delete account, then confirm. If you cannot get into the app, email [email protected] from your account address. Details: Delete your account.
Sign in with Apple did not work.
Check that you are signed in to iCloud on the device (Settings → your name), then try again. If it fails with an error, send us the exact message and your iOS version.
The email address Apple gave you looks strange.
If you chose Hide My Email, Apple sends us a private relay address ending in privaterelay.appleid.com. That is normal, and it is the address we use to contact you.
My progress and notes are missing on my other device.
Sync needs the same account signed in on both devices. Check the email shown under You / Me on each: if they differ, you are signed in twice. If they match, open a chapter and stay online for a moment.

Reading and playback
Can I read offline?
In the app, yes: chapters you have opened are cached on the device. The website keeps recent narration in your browser so it does not download twice.
Something in a book or an explanation is wrong.
Tell us the book, the chapter, and roughly where. Text corrections and factual errors in the explanations are both worth reporting.
How do I get a copy of my data?
Email us from your account address and ask for an export. We will send what we hold: your profile, progress, notes and subscription status.

Where our content comes from
Every book in Capitula is in the public domain. The texts come from Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks. The animated chapter explanations are original to Capitula, produced with AI assistance — drafted and edited scripts, generated visuals, and text-to-speech narration — and reviewed by a person before release. We do not reproduce any in-copyright edition.
Capitula is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, Paddle, Apple or Google. They are named only because they provide the texts, payments or sign-in options.
