The 14-day money-back guarantee
- It applies to your first purchase and to your first renewal payment, on either plan: Capitula Premium Yearly ($49.99 per year, USD) or Capitula Premium Monthly ($7.99 per month, USD). See Pricing.
- The 14 days are counted from the payment date on the receipt, not from the day the trial started and not from the day you cancel.
- Write to [email protected] from the email address on your Capitula account, and include the order or invoice number from the receipt Paddle sent you. If you cannot find the receipt, tell us the account email and the approximate payment date instead.
- We reply within two business days and approve the refund; Paddle then processes it.
How the refund is paid
Paddle is our merchant of record for web purchases, so Paddle issues the refund — we cannot move money on our own. Refunds go back to the original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days. The exact time depends on the bank or card issuer; Paddle pays out immediately, the delay is on the banking side.
The refund is the full amount of the payment, including the tax Paddle collected for it. We also cancel the subscription when we refund, so it does not renew again.
After the first 14 days
- Charges older than 14 days are not refundable, except where the law requires it.
- Cancelling is not the same as a refund. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps your access until the end of the period you already paid for; it does not refund the current period.
- If you are in the EU or the UK, consumer law may give you a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of a purchase. Nothing in this policy takes that right away, and we honour it where it applies.
- If a renewal charge was caused by a problem on our side, or you believe you were charged in error, write to us anyway — that is handled case by case, outside the 14-day window.
Cancelling, deleting and refunds
- Cancel a web subscription in Paddle's customer portal — open You → Manage subscription on capitula.io, or use the link in the receipt email Paddle sent — or email us from the account address and ask.
- A subscription bought inside the iOS app is billed by Apple; refunds for it are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. One bought in the Android app is billed by Google; refunds go through Google Play. Not by us.
Deleting your Capitula account does not cancel your subscription, and it does not refund it. The account and the payment are separate records: delete the account and the next renewal still arrives. Cancel the subscription first, then delete the account.
Bank disputes
If you open a chargeback with your bank instead of asking us first, the money is frozen while the bank investigates, which usually takes longer than writing to us. Please email us first — a normal refund is faster for you.
